Health benefits of this Chocolate Avocado Mousse recipe
There is nothing I enjoy eating more than healing foods. Every time I eat, it is an opportunity to build my future health and well-being.
Do you want to know how this recipe can help you improve your health?
First, it is free of gluten, sugar, dairy, and eggs, some of our digestive system’s biggest irritants. It is indeed light to digest, so it will not be a problem if you want to eat it as dessert after lunch or dinner.
Avocados are having their moment in the spotlight! And there are many reasons to love them.
They are low glycemic, low carb, and rich in monounsaturated fats, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals.
How to pick the right avocados at the store
Even if you think you are paying a high price for your avocados, they are well worth it for your health and body.
I want you to know that avocados are included in the Clean Fifteen list of veggies and fruits. This means that you can buy non-organic avocados. It won’t hurt your health to eat them because the pesticides they contain aren’t considered harmful for human consumption. And it mostly stays on the peel.
Buying avocados can be frustrating. I don’t know how many times I’ve bought them to realize that they are all spoiled inside and not fit to eat when I open them later at home.
So my first tip for choosing a perfect avocado is that it still has the stem attached.
If the small branch at the top has been removed, this avocado is more likely to have dark spots and rot before it even sees daylight.
How to know when the avocados are ready to eat
Looking at the color of the avocados will give you a clue. Ripe avocados are usually dark in color, almost black, with a touch of green when ripe.
Another test to see if your avocado is ready is to hold it in the palm of your hand and lightly squeeze it. A ripe avocado should yield to firm, gentle pressure but shouldn’t feel too soft or mushy.
