Mother’s day is around the corner! I’m already so excited because I’m GOING TO CELEBRATE BIG TIME!
The first year as a mother is tough. And yet, I kept myself healthy; my baby is thriving; she is almost sleeping through the night! (celestial chorus) And in addition, my husband and I have overcome our “after-baby marriage issues.”
What do you think, girls? More than one reason to party.
Today, moms, this blog is all about how to celebrate YOU for being a badass mommy. The best Mother your baby can possibly have.
This year all the attention has been on the baby, and you have put your well-being and self-care aside. But it is the time to recognize that your happiness is the foundation of a joyful family. Especially now that Mother’s Day is coming.
Mother’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the caring, strong, and inspiring person you are with your loved ones. Mom, you are a cornerstone in your family’s well-being. Here are 10 fabulous gift ideas for Mother’s Day, so your tribe pampers you on this special date.
Some of these products helped me feel better about myself in my day-to-day this first year of motherhood. They enhanced my confidence and made me feel sexy, comfortable, and cozy.
Here we go!
1- The Millionaire Within Her Series
So, I’m a mom; now what? This first year of motherhood comes with a bit of identity crisis. No doubt, now that you have a newborn entirely dependent on you. She doesn’t even let you go to the toilet without crying out for your presence. You will eat, sleep, take a shower, cook, clean, etc., while carrying your baby.
At the same time, a woman has other needs.
A mom also craves professional life, financial independence, and ways to express her creativity.
So, if you have an entrepreneurial soul or are already a “Shepreneur” or “Lady boss,” if you need powerful inspiration and guidance, The Millionaire Within Her docuseries will be your perfect Mother’s Day Gift.
In this series of 10 Episodes, around 1 hour each, these inspiring women share what they have gone through and what they learned to achieve financial freedom and professional fulfillment. Most of them built whole empires and substantial businesses from scratch. Super moving!
I cried many times watching this series because listening to these women touched a deep fiber in my heart. What they say in this series resonates with my life’s purpose.
Most of them are moms too, and they share the challenges and obstacles they went through to achieve a prosperous and meaningful way of life.
2- Water Hyacinth Basket Set
Oh, mom! Your house will be full of toys, diapers, baby wipes, and many little things here and there. So to keep your home tidy and clean, your family will need to make some extra effort.
One of my favorite ideas is having these cute Water Hyacinth Baskets everywhere in the house. I have one in the living room with toys that my baby use. I also have them in the bathroom and nursery.
Before going to bed, I go around the house tossing things in those baskets. It’s a fast and painless method for this lazy and overtired momma to hide the mess.
Just check how beautiful they are. I love these from Bouclair. They are spacious and have excellent quality. These baskets are one of my favorite Gift Idea for Her First Mother’s Day.
3- Sushi Making Kit. A Delicious First Mother’s Day Gift Idea.
An average mom will likely struggle with weight loss during this first year after the baby. Still, you want to enjoy your favorite food, because Who deserves it more than you?
I love sushi, but I stopped eating it in my first year after having the baby because of all the calories this little deliciousness can have between the rice, mayonnaise, and sauces.
So, if you have this Sushi Making Kit at home, you can make your own recipe and substitute those ingredients. For example, you can use quinoa, cabbage leaves, and more vegetables.
4- Lilysilk Pajamas or Nightgown
In your baby’s first year, you will spend a lot of time at home.
If I can give you a piece of advice: Put yourself together every day from the beginning.
I had postpartum depression, and one thing that didn’t help was wearing an ugly black robe the whole day. My mom used to joke, saying that I looked like a Middle Age executioner.
Then, I got some items from Lilysilk. First, I bought myself a cowl neck silk dress and a Sleeping beauty set. When I tried the dress, I felt like a million dollars. My vibes changed, and I felt more confident and sexy. Yes, silk does that!
A mom still needs some clothing that will get spoiled by food stains and baby puke. So, I keep my black robe for those occasions when I know my clothes could get messed up.
However, if you want to be beautiful yet comfortable while lounging around the house, this Lilysilk pajamas set is a great option. I know I will go for it too!
The only downside of silk items is that they need to be hand-washed, but it is totally worth it.
5- Headspace Subscription. Giving Calmness for Mother’s Day.
If there is something, a mom needs for the rest of her life is “Peace of Mind.” Becoming a mom is thought of as “a dream came true.” And it is, but it’s also a big responsibility, and it can be overwhelming. As a result, we are constantly dealing with mom’s guilt.
A resource that helped me deal with all these mommy issues was Meditation.
I’ve been meditating for around seven years, and I can say that it’s one of the best habits that transformed my life into a better one.
After having my little girl, Meditation has helped me cope with anxiety, postpartum depression, and insomnia. It has brought calm and awareness to my daily routine, and I can also see the impact on my baby’s behavior. Because when I feel good, so she does.
Headspace is a beautiful app that takes you by the hand towards the paths of Meditation. It teaches you different techniques and publishes inspiring content daily to motivate you to live your life to the best.
6- Massage session a Relaxing First Mother’s Day Gift
Talking about relaxing! A massage session can work miracles for a tired momma!
Unfortunately, body aches are expected due to carrying the baby around, breastfeeding, and the wrong postures we unconsciously adopt while doing home chores.
If you give a mom a massage session as her Mother’s Day Gift, she will love you for the rest of your life and beyond.
7- Vionic Shoes to Care for Mommy’s Tootsies.
A momma needs some comfortable shoes now that she will spend a lot of time on her feet. In fact, your feet will demand some extra love. Because if you spend the whole day in flip-flops, they will get dry and painful.
That’s why wearing comfortable shoes that give your foot the proper support it’s crucial.
Vionic shoes are all that: comfortable and stylish. They have orthotic slippers and cute sandals that will make being on your feet the whole day less of a hustle.Â
I haven’t used them, but I’ve heard so many good things about this footwear brand that I’ll soon be buying some to wear at home. I’ll let you know if they’re really worth it in a future blog.
8- Dutailier Glider. The comfiest Mother’s Day Gift.
The best gift idea for her first Mother’s day has to be all about comfort! And nothing better than a supportive, soft, and comfy glider to spend those sleepless nights rocking your baby.
I tried other rocking chairs, and they were very uncomfortable. I remember when I sat my butt the first time on a Dutailier Glider. Suddenly I knew that was the one!
I was shopping for some pajamas for my baby, and then I saw this beautiful glider. So I tried it, and I wanted to stay there and take a nap. LOL. I was that tired!
9- Gift Card from her favorite shop.
Nowadays, you can get a gift card from almost any store. So if you are a clueless and clumsy buyer, just get that momma a gift card from her favorite store.
Cover it in a beautiful wrapping paper or inside an envelope and handwrite a note mentioning all the reasons why she is the best Mother on Earth.
10- A whole day by herself. An unforgettable Mother’s Day Gift.
Are you on a low budget? We’ve all been there.
Do you know a cheap yet priceless First Mother’s Day Gift Idea to celebrate?
TIME!
A mom needs time to sit in that coffee shop she loves and read a good book. Time to spend a girls’ night out with her friends. Time to take a bath quietly or go for a walk.
She will be delighted if you give her a day or even just a few hours by herself. She will be a better wife, mom, and person. Because this mom cares a great deal for everyone, often forgetting her own needs. However, she feels depleted and exhausted at the end of the day.
She will never imagine that her family would grant her a day to love herself. Yet, I can picture her joyful face if you give her this time that she needs more now than ever before. And I assure you she will never forget this First Mother’s Day gift.
XOXO, Idania
