Who fancies a delicious coconut lemonade 🥥to cool off from this super hot summer? This recipe’s even better because it’s completely sugar-free.
It is impressive how summer heat can cut off our appetite. I feel that my body asks me for fresh foods like veggies and fruits, and, above all, a lot of liquids.
Here in Canada, summers can be sweltering. Who’d say?
And this sugar-free coconut lemonade has become one of my favorite drinks to refresh myself, especially on weekend nights, when I feel like having something different to share with my husband.

This non-alcoholic coconut lemonade is truly a refreshing treat with a different touch to the traditional lemonade. And the flavor of coconut is the detail that makes this drink so spectacular.
So without further preamble, I share the recipe.
Ingredients.
To prepare this recipe, we are gonna need:
- 6-8 Mint leaves
- 1 Tbsp of Vanilla
- 2 cups of Coconut water
- 2 cups of Full-fat Coconut milk
- 1 cup of Coconut cream
- Stevia to taste
- 3-4 cups of ice cubes
- 4 Limes
- Lime Slices
- shredded coconut
- lime zest
Check out the coconut water, milk and cream are unsweetened, as our goal is to make a healthy version of this recipe. And otherwise, the result can be overly sweet.
We will use four mint leaves to blend with the rest of the ingredients. And three to four leaves to garnish our beverage. For that, we will also use the lime zest and some shredded coconut.
Since we are not going to use sugar to prepare this coconut lemonade, we will sweeten it with Stevia, a phenomenal sugar substitute. It has no calories, and it doesn’t mess up with our gut as other sweeteners. I like to also add a tablespoon of vanilla, which will boost the sweet and make the taste and aroma of this drink even better.
I have a little curiosity for you.
If you are wondering why we are preparing this recipe with limes and not with lemons, I let you know that this drink is from Colombia. And generally, the green fruit, that we know as lime, is called lemon in almost all over Latinoamerica.
I haven’t tried it with lemons, but I think it might be alright as well.

Here some tips to make our sugar-free Coconut Lemonade even better.
- Shake the coconut milk and coconut cream well before opening. In this way, the content is homogeneous, since the coconut fat tends to remain on the surface of the containers.
- For a more liquid texture, add the ice last, directly to the glass.
- For a frappe lemonade, add one more cup of ice cubes to the blender and blend on low speed.
- If you want to turn this into a drink, but are concerned about calories, whiskey, brandy, cognac, vodka, and tequila are the alcoholic beverages with the lowest calories.
- This drink goes super well with almost any meal, I love to accompany it with some lettuce tacos or some stuffed avocados.
